Animal-Assisted Coaching is a goal-oriented, structured coaching practice led by licensed professionals and/or integrated into animal-assisted interventions. The intervention process is measurable and included in professional documentation. Animal-assisted coaching is a professional coaching practice carried out within the scope of formally trained (with an active license, degree, or equivalent) professionals.
This form of coaching supports the recipient’s personal development, fosters insight, and contributes to the enhancement of group dynamics, social skills, and/or socio-emotional functioning. The coach providing animal-assisted coaching (or the individual handling the animal under the coach’s supervision) must have adequate training in behavior, needs, and health, and be capable of recognizing and managing signs of stress in the involved animals.
